Simultaneous updating from 2 palms?

Hello.

I'm planning on using 2 PALM TX's and a PC for inventory purporses. The Palm TX is a WiFi capable Palm OS handheld.

First of all, I'd like to know if HanDBase is able to synchronize to the PC in real time (each time a change is made to the database) or if it only synchronizes when doing a HotSync.

The next thing is that at times, 2 people may be updating the database on each Palm simultaeously. What will happen to the database in the PC if both synchronize different updates over the same database? Can HanDBase handle simultaneous editing?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for writing.

HanDBase for Palm OS does not support "real time" syncing. Your only option would be to sync via the conduit that runs during Hot Sync.

Since you are going to have two users working with adding records, you may want to consider adding a "user" field. This could be a text field that each user defaults to his or her name. This would allow you to filter based on records added by user one and user two.
