Delete old Palm user?

Postby dcourtley » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:22 pm

Years ago I migrated from Palm to first iPad Touch and now iPhone. But my two old Palm users still show up in DB Browser. Is there any way to get rid of them?

Hello,

Great question... Assuming that you are no longer using the Palm OS software, you can delete the Users.dat file for Palm Desktop. This file contains the user information for the Hot Sync ID's of your Palm(s). To locate the file, browse to C:\Program Files\Palm\Users\ You can then delete or move the file to a different location. Afterwards, restart HanDBase Desktop and you should find that the Palm OS user is no longer available!

Hope this helps!

I ended up simply uninstalling the Palm software and deleting the whole Palm sub-directory. That finally did it. Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for writing. Your method accomplishes your task as well. It may be more practical of me to recommend that method in the future if the user is completely finished with Palm OS.
