Set up of working directory

Postby VikingWarrior » Sat Dec 01, 2012 4:59 pm

I would like to have all HANDBase files in the directory c:\HandBase.
How to configure it?

Hi,

Thanks for writing.
If you are using any of the iOS or Android versions on the desktop, you can set up custom database sharing. The sharing feature will allow you to specify a directory for the storage of your databases. You can set it up using the following steps:

1. Move the files to the C:/HanDBase directory
2. Open HanDBase Desktop
3. Select the Configure - Custom User option, setting the path of the databases to C:/HanDBase. This will cause the files to show in the DB Browser dialog within HanDBase Desktop.
4. Select the Configure . (iPhone or Android) Users option
5. Select the partnership in the list
6. Click the option to Edit Sync Settings
7. In the lower right corner of the dialog that appears, click the option to add a shared database. Choose a file from the C:/HanDBase location.
8. Repeat for the remainder of your files.

After you finish with this, try syncing. You should find that the databases are now syncing to the C:/HanDBase directory.

I want to conclude with noting that you *might* need to alter your UAC settings and/or set up HanDBase to run as admin since you will be writing to a location outside of the Documents directory. Let me know if you need advice on this.
