Order fields are created in

I have some DBs that are quite slow to start up and i am wondering if there are any particular ways in which they should be created that will help with this
I have data coming in from a parent DB through relationship fields and from here it is used as part of calculated formula's
Would it help to reorder some fields so that all calculated fields work down in order.
And to put the relationship fields as some of the first fields in the DB so that the calculations are done after them
Are there any rules regarding the field order creation in more complex DBs like this ?

I don't know if there are "rules" but had always believed that for any Calculated or Conditional fields the fields which they depend upon should come before them.

Reordering the fields won't have any bearing on speed, unfortunately.

The hit in speed is caused by the calculations and relationships themselves, being updated upon opening.
