Desktop stability with 30K records database

I have a small to medium size database (30K records, 4.7MB file size) which I find problematic to work with.

I had problems importing the CSV data originally with the software hanging on a few occasions before I managed to get the data in.
Now, when I open the file and type *anything* into the Search box, the application hangs. the 'FIND' icon works fine.
I've had a couple of occasions where I've opened a record, then closed it again and I get 'Abnormal program termination'. In summary, this simply isn't usable as it stands.

Versions:
HanDBase (Handbase desktop 4.1.5 build R1, handbase enterprise for iPad add on 4.7.7.Build R2). it tells me all applications are up to date.
Running Windows 7 professional SP1

Thanks for writing.

Sounds like there may be something along the lines of a damaged record. Could you send me a copy of your database at support @ ddhsoftware . com along with a brief note reminding me of the issue?
