How to rearrange fields?

Postby idyllbob » Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:20 am

I have set up a simple database for my books and discovered I wanted to move the position of one field but I can find out how to do it.

Also, where can I go to get the details on importing access databases into hanDBase.

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Thanks for your posting. You can reorder fields at any time. In the Windows Desktop version you can do so like this:

Open database
Select Configure, DB Properties
Choose Fields
Select the bottom button - edit field order.
Rearrange the order as you see fit!

The field order is kept independent of the order it was created, and because of this you can also set a separate order for each view you have set up. In the Edit Views section you can create one view which has fields in one order and another view which has fields in a different order. When you select a view, it will copy the view's field order into the field order I showed you above.

Hope this helps!
