A steep learning curve!

Want to be able to get (maybe attach/link/sync/import/export) data from and to my access 2000 database so that I can view, and edit, it on both desktop and android, perhaps using dropbox or some such. Before I buy your product can you confirm I can do this. Is it difficult?

You can sync HanDBase databases on an Android to Access 2000 databases on a Windows computer using the HanDBase Professional for Android/Windows addon. The sync would occur via a local WiFi connection.

Did you ever get the pc version of HDB? It can take some effort to sync and merge data but I think it's better then what is out there today.

am relatively new to this but will go through the forum a little further to learn more, beginning of a

Thanks Michael for the kind words of support. The Free versions out there for many categories are either totally free and unsupported by the developer- you'll notice they look like they were designed a long time ago and never touched again, because they have likely been abandoned in most cases. The other kinds are ad supported, and as long as the app is popular enough to have something like 500,000 users per day, ads could generate enough to make a small living wage (roughly 36,000USD/year). For an app like a game, getting 500k users per day is quite doable and many many games have that size of a user base. Those games also don't require much in the way of updates or support either, and so it is very profitable for game developers to offer a free version. For an app like HanDBase, there is only a relatively small niche of users that will use it whether free or not. Admittedly more users will use it for free, but unfortunately not enough to support making any sort of living on it. I don't know this for a fact, but from anecdotal knowledge I have from following other apps that went this direction.

All this said, we don't have a free version yet. I have actually done the work to create an ad supported version on iOS and have never released it. I continue to consider it and may release it at some point in the future if I find a way that seems worth the risk of having to support a magnitude more of users with less revenue coming in!

Thanks, yes, we are a little too small a company to support the amount of customers that a free version would bring in. It could be argued that the company could grow as a result if there were more paid users after trying the free version, and that's something I may explore in the future, though it is a huge risk.

Hopefully you'll find it worth the small investment!
