Database inaccessable after crashed edit attempt.

Postby Steve » Wed Apr 16, 2014 12:19 pm

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet (GT-P5113)
Android 4.0.4
Handbase 4.6.316

Was adding a third filter criteria to a view on my mileagelog database when it crashed.
Attempting to reopen the database causes Handbase to crash without any error.
Rebooted the tablet with the same result.
All other databases open fine.

The file size looks correct, (or really close to correct).
Is there any way to recover this file?

Hi there,

Very sorry to hear that the database seems to be corrupt. We can attempt to recover it for you- if you email it to support@ddhsoftware.com we can try to run some recovery tool we created for this purpose. It's been about 60% successful in recovery databases but if you have any backups you may want to start searching for the latest version just in case!

hi Dave,

Just sent it.

as this has happened to me before, I have an automated wifi backup routine that triggers nightly...
it stopped working about 2 months ago.

It had been working so well for so long that I didn't look at it since right around that time,...had to have been a day or two.
SO, my most recent backup is about two months out of date.

That's what I get for being complacent.
