Discuss plans for a future version of HanDBase for the Google Android platform

Encryption for Android

Postby birdgre1 » Tue May 06, 2014 12:03 pm

The security dept atthe company I work with wants to knwo about encryption used by Handbase. We are looking at Handbase for Android. The follwoing FAQ would be satisfactory for my security department, as long as it applies to Android as it applies to iOS. So is the same encryption used for Android that is used for iPhone?

Question: What level of encryption is offered on the iPhone?
Product: HanDBase for iPhone Article Number: 332 Creation Date: 10/16/2008
Answer:
As of version 4.1.0, HanDBase for iPhone supports 128bit encryption using the open format, SaferSK. Apple required a special certification with the US export regulations bodies in order to distribute programs with greater than 64 bit encryption. We applied for this certification in late September and once we received that certification, we released an update to the HanDBase app to remove that limitation and offer full 128bit encryption to match the other platforms.
