Date problem importing csv

Postby Tungsten » Sat Sep 06, 2014 9:38 am

Hi,
I'm trying to import a csv file into an existing handbase db but having trouble with Dates.

I've set the field order of the csv file to match that of handbase and all the info appends fine except for the date.

My current db date format is dd-mm-yyyy and also has the same format in the csv file but handbase does not appear to see the month or year of the incoming date.
An example is: incoming date 4/9/2014 is seen by handbase as 4/1/2000 or 2/9/2014 is seen as 2/1/2000.

Ive tried different date formats but nothing seems to work, in fact other formats are worse and default to 1/1/2000

Can anyone offer any help.

Thanks

Hi,

The CSV import routine relies on dates being in the format of mm/dd/yyyy. Try modifying the format in your original source prior to exporting the CSV and then import.

Hi, Brian

Does HanDBase see dates formatted as mm/dd/yyyy and mm-dd-yyyy as been different?

If so then this is probably where my problem lies as my dates are in the latter format.

Yes, the dates need to be mm/dd/yyyy for the CSV import.
