Discuss plans for a future version of HanDBase for the Google Android platform

HandBase for Android

Postby StreifLicht » Sun Dec 28, 2014 4:40 pm

Android version:
With the iPhone version i can attach an image to a dataset.
Is it possible to add an image to a dataset within the android version too?
If yes, how to to this?
Is the image being stored within the database file or is it stored in a special folder?

Best regards
SL

Hi,

Thanks for posting.

This feature is coming soon. We don't have a specific time frame yet but we will be sure to announce here and on Twitter when it is ready.

Ok. Thank you for your quick reply.
A assume, that i can add this feature called "image" later on.

I intend to use the External Field function later the
following way:
>> Press "Image", the camera function comes up,
i take a photo and HandBase is saving this photo
in a field. Save the dataset.
>> Will this work in the future in that way?

Best regards

Hi,

Thanks for following up.

Yes, the support of images will be through the external field type when implemented.

I know that android has an odd file system so it taking time is no surprise.
Still, I am looking forward to when pictures becomes a working feature in externals.

Even a simple filename reference would be usable.
