Sync Error

Postby cenzer » Fri Jan 16, 2015 7:25 pm

When syncing, I get this error with many of the databases -- and they have no passwords set!

01-16-2015 18:23: Forbidden: The Username and Password entered is not correct. Please double check that the Username and Password match the one you were given when you signed up for the Global Share service.

I use a Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919) running Android Version 4.4.4
My phone service is T-Mobile.
I use WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I don't know what [Global Share Services] is.

Thank you.
Thank you.

What actions are you taking to sync? Are you connecting to your PC via WiFi?

It sounds like you are trying to do a Google sync rather than a HanDBase sync.

I get the error late in the sync -- about the last 10 of 80 databases.

How can I check that I am not using Google and How to turn off if I am?

I started to get this error for the last few days.

My phone is on T-Mobile.
Thank you.

Hi,

My apologies on the text of the error message- I copied some error parsing code from a cloud solution I wrote (Back before it was called the cloud!). Is it possible that you have the security setting for 'share database' set to something other than Full Access? Take a look at the database properties, security, set access permissions section and let me know!

I think Dave is asking you to check the "Access Permissions", which is different than setting passwords.

On the Android choose "All Categories" so you see all databases. Now long-press one of the databases which gives you this error. Now press "Properties", then press "Security". Press the second bar labeled "Set Access Permissions", which is a different option than "Set Access Password". Be sure that all the "Access Permissions" options you see are "Full Access".

Hope this helps,

Same message since few days.

Not sure it's related bur everything was ok until I discovered Relationship field can't be sorted.
Following indication in another thread I add a conditionnal field (to get the value and then sort the records)

Since this day, Handbase (on my Samsung S4 mini) crashs at least once a day... does not start, freezes, does not sync properly, with or without error message.

I checked the databases named in the error log, all acces permited

Hi "Rinho"

Please get in touch with us at support @ ddhsoftware . com (remove spaces) so we can help you troubleshoot this issue.

Please include the following information when writing:

1. The version of Android you are using
2. Whether the device has root access or not
3. How many databases are stored within the "HanDBase" folder at the root level of the phone's internal storage
4. Indicate whether or not any of the databases in the folder above contain symbols in their filename
5. List any steps that reliably cause the crashes to occur
6. Attach a copy of the sync log titled HanDBaseSync.log from /Documents/HanDBase/*/ (where * is the name of the device) on your computer

Thanks in advance. I'll watch for your email.
Kind Regards,
Brian Houghton, DDH Software
