"device is reporting no database installed"

Postby cenzer » Wed Mar 25, 2015 11:34 pm

I got a new Galaxy S4.

The databases on the S4 are fine.
The databases on the laptop sync with the S4

When I tried to sync the S4 with the Laptop -- WIN 7 Ultimate 64 bit -- I got this error message:

"device is reporting no database installed. . . ..and you continue the sync, your databases will be archived on the desktop. Are you sure you want to sync at this time?"
Thank you.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for posting.

Did you set up a new partnership for the new Galaxy S4 or sync with an existing partnership?

If you synced with an existing partnership, try setting up a new partnership, assigning a unique name to it as you do. The databases on the phone will copy to the desktop during the first sync and it should then complete as normal.

TS then you.

Keeping the same id, I deleted the user and then installed the user multiple times. The sync then worked.

I preferred to keep, & I don't know why, the same name for the user.

I always use [Smartphone] as the name. And I use the same name of both the desktop and the laptop.
Thank you.

Different phones will have different ID's associated with them, hence the reason why creating a new partnership for the new device is necessary. Glad to read syncing is now owrking.
