Sync suddenly not working

I have a LG V10 that I have successfully sync'd with my Win8 Desktop. When running my laptop (Win 10 upgrade) I realized I had not sync'd the V10 to the laptop, and proceeded to add it to the desktop HDB (I had previously, successfully sync'd my Galaxy S4 to this laptop, after the Win 10 upgrade, BTW)
On BOTH computers I am getting a message that "the devices are not on the same WiFi, or Desktop connect is not running, or the name is invalid".
The phone and the computers ARE on the same WiFi, and the name should not be "invalid", so how do I confirm that Desktop connect is, indeed, running?
I have tried restarting the phone at least twice. I have not suspected the desktop software since it is happening on two different computers.

Any suggestions, or do I uninstall and reinstall on the V10?

The plot thickens.....Tried to sync my tablet (Samsung Note 10.1, nothing "new" there) and got the same problem.
I have Wifi access (I'm here now), and it is on the same network.
2 different devices, 2 different computers, same message.

Not sure if this is what did it, but shut everything down, including the router this time, then re-started it all.
Sync'd V10 to desktop system, added it and sync's it to laptop.
Haven't tried the tablet yet, but have every reason to believe it will work as well.

Soooo.............never mind.

If the sync fails again, please try the following:

- enable Airplane Mode on the Android
- unplug power from your wireless router
- wait one minute
- plug power back into your wireless router
- wait for normal network activity to resume
- enable WiFi on the Android

After doing so, attempt to sync.
