Sync Problem

Postby uboche » Thu Oct 23, 2014 5:43 pm

After I made a few changes to one of my databases on the iPad and on the desktop (including a change to the properties), I'm suffering from a persistent sync problem. Who can I send the relevant part of my sync log to for problem analysis?

This problem is somewhat nasty. The desktop thinks all databases have disappeared from the iPad and has all of them archived. So HanDBase on the desktop is currently unusable. In fact, all databases are still on the iPad in working order but I can't back them up anymore.

Hi,

Thanks for posting.

Normally after any modification to the structure of a database is made, it needs to be queued for reinstallation using the File / Install... menu option in HanDBase Desktop.

However, since your sync is not working on a larger scale, please do the following:

1. Open HanDBase Desktop
2. Select the Configure / iPhone Users menu option
3. When the sync dialog opens, click on the partnership and then on the option to delete it
4. Agree to any prompts asking to confirm
5. Close the dialog
6. Close HanDBase Desktop
7. Open a file manager and browse to /Documents/
8. Find the HanDBase folder and rename it to OLD_HanDBase_OLD
9. Open HanDBase Desktop again and set up a new sync partnership with HanDBase on the iPad

Hope this helps.

Brian,
thanks for your fast response. Your help is much appreciated. After step 9 of your instructions, the sync was successful and all my databases are again in sync on both platforms.
