Calculating a score based on multiple fields

Postby rodneyfull » Wed May 20, 2015 5:45 pm

I am a relatively new user to handbase, but have extensive database experience.

I am trying to sum the values from 21 fields, then display the average as a percentage. My problem is the operand limit of 5.

I have assigned a value to each of the 21 fields (0,1,-1) the text is (not met, met, n/a) i want to sum up the 21 fields, then divide by 21, then multiply by 100 to get a score for an inspection.

other than making 5 fields: sum of 1-4, sum of 5-9, sum of 10-14, sum of 15-19, sum of 20-21, then adding two of them together: sum of 1-4+sum of 5-9, then getting the total value and dividing by 21, is there a way to do this?

If I'm understanding what you are wanting to do correctly, you will have to use multiple calculated fields, grouping sets of fields into each. For example, the first calculated field can add fields 1, 2, 3 and 4. The second 5, 6, 7, 8, and so on. Then use another calculation field to add the results of these fields together and return the average.
