How would I create a calculation where I would use just one field and have a running total for all records for that field?

Hi,

You can add the current value to the previous value of itself. Use the current and previous field selection tools in the upper left of the formula dialog.

The end formula will look something like P7+F7, which 7 being the number of the field you are using.

The running total only updates by going to another record and returning or by changing some other field and then changing back.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for posting.

This formula should update whenever you:

1. Open a record or create a new record
2. Modify one of the values used in the formula
3. Close the record

It won't auto update until the record closes because it reads data from all of the other records within the database.
