Managing Forms Questions on iPhone

I've recently bought Forms add-on for iPhone. Primarily I've used it to edit the form used in the EZshop dbase. It's a pretty slick add-on.

Question: How can I remove the form temporarily from the EZshop dbase on my phone so I can work with the
"raw" fields? I'd like to put it back when I'm done. I haven't been able to detect where I can manage this.

Question: When I moved the dbase to another iPhone, everything moved, EXCEPT the form. How do I ensure the form and its background image moves with the database?

Also, is there separate documentation on using forms?

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for posting.

You can temporarily disable a form from showing by unchecking the "new" and "edit" options for the form under the "smartphone" option. To find this option, do the following:

- open the database to the list of records
- tap the button in the lower right corner
- choose Database Properties
- when the screen refreshes choose Forms
- when the screen refreshes again you'll see a list of forms
- tap on a form
- tap on the edit button at the bottom of the screen
- when the screen refreshes scroll down a bit and you'll see the "new" and "edit" options

The form and database are separate files. You can send both via email at the same time doing the following:

- open HanDBase to the database selection screen
- tap the ... button to the lower right of a database name
- when the row of management options appears choose email
- if prompted choose to send in HanDBase (PDB) format
- agree to include the form file
- address and send

Thanks, Brian. Emailing the forms with the database sure beats the way I was trying to do it!

However, the last step of your instructions to disable the form don't jive with the screen I see.

The step: - when the screen refreshes scroll down a bit and you'll see the "new" and "edit" options
doesn't work, I think because I can't scroll at all (screen won't move), and the PLUS sign, copy icon, Select/Move/Size boxes and a wrench the only things showing across the bottom.

There are no checkboxes to uncheck!!

Hi,

Thanks for following up.

Try the following:

- go to Database Properties / Forms
- tap the form name once so that it is highlighted
- tap the properties button on the popup that appears (it resembles a gear)
- when the form details screen appears scroll down til you see a section labeled "iPhone and iPad touch screen"
- uncheck the two options below that by tapping on them
- tap Save in the upper right

Hope this helps!
