Color in individule Cell

Postby grputnam » Tue Jan 13, 2015 8:59 am

I would like to color individule cells so I can recognize it easier. Doing a search on the forum I believe that is not a possibility. Or is there a way to do this?
Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for posting.

When using custom forms you can create colorized backgrounds for areas. The process varies slightly depending upon which platform you are using.

On iOS, simply set the background color attribute of a text field control you add.

On Android, add a label-less button of the color of your choosing. Then add a text field and place it on top of the button.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
Kind Regards,

That sounds like a permanent color change. I want to highlight one cell to indicate a visit. Highlight John Doe's cell for his last name. I am doing it on my desktop windows and emailing it to my iPhone.

To indicate a visit, add another field and show it on the form.

I prefer not to use a check mark field. Instead, I use a number field with different numbers indicating different conditions. It can be an integer, but I often use a two digit system like.
1.2 indicated I visited, but there is much to finish
or 0.5, indicating I visited but half finished.
1.5 could say finished, but I need to go back for 0.5 reason.

That way you can use 1 filed to designate many layers of information with shades of meaning and it can also be used in a quick report that takes no work on your part to make since it is a part of the program.
