API to programmatically generate pdb file

This forum is for application developers who are integrating HanDBase into their solutions via the HanDBase API (HAPI) or other means. It's also a great place to discuss runtime development.

API to programmatically generate pdb file

Postby quipper8 » Tue Nov 17, 2009 8:34 pm

Is there a way to automatically create a pdb like as a batch script or as a library usable from another program? I can supply it with whatever input format might be necessary.

Our use case is a need to distribute data to a field force. Data is not extremely time sensitve but should be updated sometimes and is read only to the users so we would like to generate the pdb file and put it somewhere accessible to mobile devices and have them download occasionally.

also, if a pdb file of same name is downloaded to the device will it overwrite the old one automatically(I know from previous converstions, blackberry is different, so exclude them)?

Thanks for any info

Hi there,

Thanks for your posting. The HanDBase Desktop does indeed accept command line parameters for creating a HanDBase database from a CSV (comma separated values) file. You can even queue it to install to one or all users automatically (including BlackBerry devices) with a command line option.

I'd recommend looking in the documentation for the HanDBase Desktop:
http://www.ddhsoftware.com/docs/HanDBas ... esktop.pdf

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

Hi,

Here's the link:

http://www.ddhsoftware.com/docs/HanDBas ... esktop.pdf

Note: http : // www. ddhsoftware . com / docs / HanDBaseManualDesktop . pdf
Take out the spaces of this link and copy / paste it into your browser if the first one fails again.
Kind Regards,
