Hi Brian,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
"1. Enable wifi on the Blackberry, making certain that it is using the same wifi network as the one your computer is using." I did this, my network address for my windows computer is 192.168.10.193. The network address for my Blackberry Z10, as shown in Desktop Connect is http://192.168.10.249:8080
"2. Open HanDBase on the Blackberry." Done
"3. Switch to the database selection screen." Done
"4. Tap the Connect button, which resembles two circular arrows." Done
"5. Open HanDBase Desktop on your computer." Done - I am using the Android Demo version. I also have the versions for Palm (my old Treo), Windows Mobile (my old HP2495), and Blackberry (Bold 9900) but am using the Android Demo version of HanDBase Desktop to try and connect to my Z10
"6. Select the Configure / Android Users menu option." Done
"7. Select the option to set up a new partnership. When prompted select the Wifi option. Enter a name for the Blackberry and continue with entering the address shown on the screen of the phone." I did select the wifi option. However, the Android Demo version of HanDBase Desktop does not give me the option of entering a name for my Z10. It only gives me the following Error message - Could not get Device name from device. Either the device is not running desktop connect, it's not running on the same wifi network as this computer, or the device's address was not valid.
I did check my dlink wireless router and can confirm that my computer is logged onto the router (192.168.10.193) as is my Z10 (192.168.10.249). The problem seems to be in retrieving the device name. The location of the deviceid.txt file on my Z10 is device/misc/android/HanDBase/info. The device id in that file is c5ee39960d34f64.d.
"At this point the partnership should be created and the first sync should proceed." Getting close! Is the problem in the Android demo version of HanDBase Desktop? Does the regular version have the option of entering a name for my Z10?
Many thanks!!
