db encrypted on iPad not encrypted on Mac desktop

Postby Jqamiller » Mon May 12, 2014 4:55 pm

When I synch my encrypted db from Handbase for iPad 4.9.03 to my Handbase desktop for Mac v.4.512, it is no longer encrypted on the desktop. It asks for the first password but not the second "encryption password." When I sync , I sync one way - iPad to desktop. I use OS 10.9.2.

Hi,

The database is still encrypted on your Mac. HanDBase Desktop for Mac does not ask for the encryption password, though, because it does not decrypt the fields within records. The database can still be used, just existing encrypted fields cannot be viewed or modified.

The solution to this is to use the HanDBase Desktop for Windows build that is modified to install and run on a Mac. It will allow full support of encryption.

The download link should be in your account at http://www.ddhsoftware.com/download.html
