printing records

Postby BCCISProf » Wed Jul 09, 2014 6:53 pm

Hello,

I'm using HanDbase Professional for Windows version 4.7.7 Build R2. When I print in "record view" the correct graphic image (a signature) shows up properly associated with each record. The same thing happens when printing in "List View",

However, if I have a filter in place, for example only show the last three records, and I print in "List View" the wrong graphics (or no graphics) are printed. In "Record View" it does print correctly.

Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Yedidyah,

Thanks for writing.

When you apply the filter, is the signature field still included within the visible set of fields?

Thanks for confirming.

Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of the database? If yes, please send a copy of it along with a brief reminder in the subject line to support @ ddhsoftware . com (minus the spaces). I would like to test against it to make sure I am reliably duplicating the issue.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

First, I am writing to verify you received my response via email, which was sent late last night. Please let me know if you did not get the email.

Next, for record, this issue is a bug that I was able to duplicate.

In short, the signatures match records and print properly if no filter is applied. When a filter is applied, character based fields filter properly but the signatures do not.

For example, assume you have a database with four records, with the first two records having a signature and the last two records not having a signature. Now, imagine a filter is applied to cause only the last two records to show. The signatures from the first two fields will appear as though they were associated with the last two records, even though they are not.

Again, this is a bug that we are logging and will fix in an update.

Thank you. I am surprised that no one found this bug earlier since I imagine this must be a rather common situation. Nevertheless I thank you for your attention and hope you will notify me when it is solved.
