How to create the phone number-to-iMessage tool

Discussion of the version of HanDBase that runs on the iPhone and iPod touch devices. This includes the synchronization conduits as well.

also, which device do you have and which iOS are you running.

The information will help Brian troubleshoot the issue.

I found with one of my databases that I had to go to every record and edit to get it updated.
I ended up inserting a blank space in to the end of a name field.
I only had 150 records in that database but made a view that only showed records where the cell phone field had data. Dropped me to 80 records.
Later as I added more cell numbers that edit generated the new field data.

i downloaded your database, installed it on my iPhone, added a record and tried it. Worked just fine on my iPhone 6+, iOS 8.4, running the latest HanDBase.

I also installed it to my iPad running iOS 9 and it worked there too.

Have you tried shutting down the iPhone, turning it back on and try again?

One thing I tried to explain is that yes, it does create new records properly; but this tool is being installed into a db with existing records. It's in those already existing records the result field has only the phone number without the sms://

Hi Bob,

Adding new records worked well for me, as it did for Curt.

Modifying existing records worked as well.

Please try this small switch to see if it makes a difference on your iPhone:

- for the combine field, change the option to save on record saving instead of record edit

Does this make any difference?
Kind Regards,

Brian,

I applied your recommended change, with no results.

I hope a fix can be found, otherwise I would have to add "sms://" to each record - twice (there being two phone number fields for the tool to connect to), making a minimum of over 2,000 individual times that sms:// would have to be entered by hand.
