Handbase Windows 10 almost sync

Postby aklaver » Sun Apr 22, 2018 3:37 pm

Windows 10 Pro
HandBase Plus for PalmOS 4.1 Build R4
HotSync Manager 4.1.0
Symbol SPT 1800

I moved my HandBase setup from a Windows XP machine where it was working to a Windows 10 machine. When I try to sync it syncs the Palm apps and chugs away at the Handbase app for awhile and then fails with:

\System_MIDI_Sounds.PDB
OK Install
- Install failed: C:\Program Files (x86)\palmOne\Herbs\Install\handbase4.prc
Install synchronization failed
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)
HotSync operation complete 04/22/18 13:00:02

I am running as administrator and syncing over a serial port.

I have downloaded and run:
http://www.ddhsoftware.com/files/debug40.zip

I have searched the entire disk for the hddbg.log and not found it, so I am not sure if debug40.exe works on Windows 10.

Hi,

Wow, I have not seen anyone using HanDBase for Palm on Windows 10, or even Windows 8. Glad to see you still have a working Palm OS device!

Unfortunately, I don't, so I have no way to test and see if its still compatible with Windows 10. I wonder if anyone else has tried this?

I am suspecting a driver issue, although all my Palm devices have gone to the electronic recycler years ago.

Going from XP to Windows 10, I am pretty sure that you will need 64-bit drivers.

Digging around the internet, I found this. It might be worth checking out and trying the 64-bit drivers

Hope this helps
Have a good day
