jFile spreadsheet conversion

Can I convert a jFile spreadsheet document on my Palm TX to a desktop HanDBase document? I am researching HanDBase which sounds like a great product, but I cannot find this issue addressed in the documentation.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing. You can most definitely get your data from JFile to HanDBase. Since JFile uses their own proprietary database format, we can't read it directly. However, you can convert to HanDBase using an intermediary format- CSV (Comma separated values). Here's how:

In the JFile desktop application choose to export the database to a CSV file.
In HanDBase Desktop, you can now import this CSV file into HanDBase format.

Along the way the field type information will be lost, but the data will make it over. Now you can adjust the field settings in HanDBase as you need to (eg, change a field holding date values to a date field type, etc).

Let me know if you have any further questions!
