The purpose of the Black Hole database is to track all of those papers that you collect in your life that you think might be important some day, but you’re either too lazy to file or not sure where to file. Typical examples are: instruction sheets, bills, insurance papers, warranties, bids, subpoenas (ok, just kidding) you get the idea…

Bookends is a very simple but powerful MacosX bibliographic reference manager. Use it to download refererences from Pubmed easily. Then export them as tab-delimited. Use Handbase desktop 3.0i for Mac to convert that file to a handbase file and voila... all your medline references appear on your palm.

Designed for Pocket PC 2002, but could be modified for other PDA's. The Data included is for a collector of Political Memorabilia, but should work for other collectibles.
Downloadable file is in compressed zip format. You will need to put the two files in your Sync Directory to be able to install them on your Pocket PC.
This fixes a previous version which was password protected and brings it up to the current version of HandBase. This version is completely unprotected.
This should be downloaded instead of the "collections.pdb" version above.

I really enjoy programming my PDA with Hotpaw Basic

a Hotpaw Basic function or command. Well, I just solved that
problem with HanDBase - the world's greatest PDA database product! All I need to do now is look up the function or
command in the HandDBase Hotpaw Basic Reference database
and my programming continues without having to wait to
get my hands on the manual.

This database is more geared to preparing to create a project file than to actually being the project file. Use it to capture the essence of an idea quickly while it is fresh in your mind – then create the actual vehicle what will manifest the idea, whether it is a departmental project, business plan, or perhaps a new process creating a better way to do something.

This database is quite large (3mb) and I would suggest storing it on an external memory card. Remember that even if stored on a card, you must have the RAM available on your device to open the file.
I have compiled a database of over 300 viruses. Most of them are of veterinary significance, but there are many that are zoonotic; hence, they would be useful for a medical or veterinary professional or student. The filters listed below are quite helpful as well as the sorts. Download the demo and see for yourself.
Has Data:
Yes
Has Forms:
No
Filters:
The most useful filters are the disease, family and species. However, you can also filter by genome, transmission, or zoonosis. The Disease and Species filters are quite helpful. Say for example, that you want to know all the respiratory diseases in cats; set one filter for "Species - Cats" and the other for "Disease - Respiratory" and PRESTO! I love HanDBase.
Sorting:
Useful sorts are by family and name. It helps with memorization for tests
Comments:
The version downloadable from this site is only a demo. It has a couple of viruses from each family (a little over 40). To download the complete version with over 300 ($4.95) go to http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgearsw/ryancook.html.
