This program is VERY useful in those situations where you have gone out with several people and the waiter/waitress puts everything on one tab and it is up to you to split the tab accordingly. AccuPay.PDB currently has links to 2 other databases, AccuPayItems and AccuPayQty. Features include the ability to enter partial quantities of items for when you "split the appetizer" or split that pitcher of your favorite beverage with several of your friends. Also includes a tip estimator and sales tax calculator.

I wrote this out of a very frustrating evening at a restaurant where there were 16 of us supposedly on separate checks and the waitress informed us at the end of the meal that she was new and only knew how to put everything on one check! This could also be used by a waiter/waitress as a courtesy to their patrons to "fairly" split the bill.
Be sure and note the way the Sales tax must be entered i.e. 1.05 for 5%, 1.00 for 0%, etc. I was limited by the # of fields available in HanDbase, so you may need to enter multiple records for a single tab. No documentation is included but the program includes 1 sample record and should be self-explanatory. There are 3 databases in the ZIP file; AccuPay.PDB, AccuPayItems.PDB and AccuPayQty.PDB. All must be installed for AccuPay to work properly. Enjoy.

The algorithm has been extrapolated from tables. One drink is defined by one glass of wine or one beer. It is assumed that alcohol elimination is one ounce (30cc) per hour. May not be used for medicolegal purpose. If you change the number of drinks, I advise you to tap in the weight field and then in the calculated fields. Handbase 2.75d may be slow to calculate the different intervariables. Have fun with it.

Beer Buddy is a database for rating beers you have sampled. The database contains a baseline of 868 beers, which you may sample and rate (of course you can add others). The database contains the fields region, country, beer, brewery, type (a Popup), rank (a Popup of from "excellent" down to close the brewery), proof, and a section for your (personal) notes. The fields region and country, come from a DB Popup named Brewed In. The database rankings are clean, so that you can rate the beers for yourself (it doesnt matter what I think of them!).

Beer Buddy contains a filter for each region (North America, Europe, Oceania, South America, Asia, Africa, and all regions). It also contains the filter ranked, so you can easily see a running list of all beers you have personally ranked.
Sorting:
If you have a preference for a particular type of beer, you may wish to sort by type. By default, the database is sorted by country.
Comments:
I put the database together as a way for my friends and I to rate the beers we sample. I pulled a lot of the information off from the web, but some of the beers are personal favorites. Although there are only two styles of beers, ale (top fermenting) and lager (bottom fermenting), there are many variations of them. Some may feel that the type list is a bit of overkill. Feel free to reclassify the beers if you want (i.e. from Amber Ale to Ale, etc.). I hope you will enjoy it. Life is too short to drink cheap beer!
This database contains a description of the major beer styles, with a picture of the appropriate glass for that style of beer. It utilizes the ImagePlugin, because the images are in color.

Some folk's think that it is sacrilegious to use the wrong type of beer glass! Although I am not one of them, I was very interested in what the proper glass was for the beer I am drinking. This database will likely be my last devoted to beer. After a while I may appear to be more than a beer enthusiast ;-) Sorry about the picture file sizes of the first upload. These pics are much smaller!

Handbase 3 updates of 2 popular applets. This file contains "Weight Watch 3" to track daily weight-watcher points, and "Calorie Count 3" to track calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium, & carbohydrates. Both programs have been updated to take advantage of HanDBase 3 new features that make them easier to use and more powerful.
If you are using a Weight Watchers program or loosing weight the traditional calorie counting way - this is the program for you.
Also includes a third table for tracking your weight, weight goals, and weight loss.
I have resubmitted this applet which was "lost" in the recent restructuring of the website.
The Carbohydrate Calculator is designed for anyone wishing to easily add up the carbohydrate intake in his or her diet, for example, using an Atkins regime. It could also be used to help manage one's diet as it includes other nutritional values.
It summates all the carbohydrate values over a preset period of time and can be used to track ones diet over one day or several days as desired.
Version 2 has enhanced views to include data for carbohydrate, "net" carbohydrate, and total sugars; as well as data for fat, fibre and protein values.
There is also a new much improved nutrition database. This includes data from both "Atkins Food Values" and McCance & Widdowson v6 UK food data.
It is possible to use any nutritional database of your choice (please see attached documentation).
The applet is supplied as a zip file containing two databases and a manual in acrobat reader format. There is also one in palm doc format for use on the handheld.

Cooking With Points: Consist of three database files.
The WW Food Selections used in the Weight Loss and Weight Watchers Points Database Files.
WW Recipe database links to the Cooking/Points Database and contains information as to recipe name, category, prep time, cooking method, serving size, number of servings, total points per recipe (the total must be entered from the Cooking/Points Database), points per serving, and instructions. The points per serving field calculates to an integer. This can be changed to a float to allow for partial points.
Cooking/Points Database contains the recipe name from the WW Recipe Database, ingredients which is a database popup that pulls the ingredient data from the WW Food Selections Database, portion, points, quantity, points per ingredient, and total recipe points. The quantity is set as a float number with two decimal points; this is to accomodate whole and fractions of measurements. As an exampe a portion size is listed as a 1/2 C. but the recipe uses 1 1/4 C, enter 2.5 in the Quantity field.

This database includes records for cooking type (popup) (broil, grill, roast, rotisserie, etc.), food type,lbs./number of pieces, temperature, cooking time, internal temperature and minutes per pound. I gathered data from the web and various cookbooks. I grew tired of having to hunt every time I wanted to broil a chicken.
Applet keeps track of your daily intake of Calories and Fat Grams. The applet contains a database of common foods with their calorie and fat grams. You create a record for each day. Looking at applications already uploaded I wanted to make the data easily available to use with keeping track of my food intake. Hope this helps you as much as it does me. My guidelines are an intake of 40 fat grams, 1700 calories, 200 mg of cholesterol, and 2400 mg of sodium. It easy to do if you eat the right foods. Foods, which in the beginning you will hate but find ways to make things likeable.

This is a database to store info on your favorite restaurants, and places you want to try. The neighborhoods, cities, and views are all in and around Seattle, Washington, but you can easily delete these and substitute your own local cities and neighborhoods.
For years I tried various ways of keeping track of local restaurants--the hours of places I liked, reviews of new places I wanted to try, landmarks and cross streets so I could find a place again, etc. This database my best idea yet. It has a clickable field for the restaurant's URL that will take you to their website, and a clickable field for the phone number that will dial your iPhone. You can sort for different neighborhoods or cities, or different cuisines you're in the mood for. I use the notes field add who recommended the place, what to order, comments from reviewers, etc.
Allows you to track exactly what you ate and when you ate it each day. Very useful for diet and nutrition awareness, as well as for such things as identifying headache triggers, etc.

Home Roast is a green coffee inventory with a linked roasting log used for home coffee roasting.
*This is a resubmission of my original applet. The original file could not be downloaded due to the recent server problems.
Home Roast is the coffee inventory database, and tracks the following:
•Inventory amounts
•Cost calculations
(If you purchase coffee from sweetmarias.com (highly recommended), data for the following fields can be copied directly into the database from the Sweet Maria's website by using the HanDBase Desktop companion.)
•Coffee origin details
•Cupping reviews
•Roasting recommendations
•Other Notes

Home Roast Log is a linked roasting log database & tracks the following:
•Roast method
•Calculated inventory amounts
•Batch weight before and after roasting.
•The calculated percentage of weight lost during roasting.
•Detailed profile information for each roast. This includes times and temps for 1st crack, 2nd crack, and end
of roast. For recording the actual profile, temps can be entered for every thirty second interval during the roast.
Most of the pop-ups in the log are already populated to make data entry easy. However, temps in the pop-ups
may need to be changed depending on your roasting method and whether you're recording bean mass or roaster temps.

Comments:
This database came about out of the desire to keep track of beers already consumed on the World Beer Tour to avoid duplicate consumption (if that is really a problem!). I propagated the table with beers on the list from the Superior, Colorado restaurant. It will be necessary to add and delete beers that are not at your local Old Chicago. I will attempt to get a complete list from Old Chicago of all the beers carried at all the restaurants. When I do get the list I will add them to the table and issue an updated version. Cheers!

Pocket Taste is the only Palm based application designed specifically with the wine taster in mind whether you are an amateur or professional taster.
Although wine tasting is a popular past time for many, most of us do not record our tastings regularly. This is a shame because our senses can only become more accurate when we have recorded experiences to judge them against. Pocket Taste helps to automate the process of taking good wine tasting notes, that's it, plain and simple. Pocket Taste is not a cellar program or a shopping package, but rather a package that focuses strictly on the tasting experience.
Pocket Taste works in conjunction with many of the popular wine "Cellar" packages. This is the standalone version for use with handbase and or Handbase desktop.
As a note to new users, Pocket Taste always comes with free in version updates and upgrades.

I made a simple database many years ago and when I find an "interesting" recipe, I add it. Many recepies are from various web sides, some are from my friends, some are my own... This is one of tree DB I made, because I used onother software and it didn't support so many records.

This is a great way to jot down a recipe when you are over a friend's or relative's house and like something they are making! It requires very little handwriting, as most of the popup's have useful values defined already. This also makes good use of the link and linked feature of HanDBase, since it uses a separate database for the ingredients which is virtually unlimited. Also, you can recalculate an ingredient amount based on the serving size needed. Just enter the # people you need to serve, and the serving size will be adjusted automatically!

This is an improvement on Dave Haupert's Recipes DB. It's organized a bit differently and adds several new features, including the ability to have HanDBase calculate the quantities of ingredients you need to make a given number of servings. It's also linked with my Shopping List DB, which means you can pick your ingredients right out of your shopping list!

It's come to my attention that several of my gallery applet files had become corrupted on the HanDBase server. Unfortunately, it's also the case that if an author changes their e-mail address, they become disconnected from their applets, so I haven't been able to re-upload the files. This has now been corrected. Thanks for your patience!

Note: As an added safety precaution, the Recipes2000 databases are set such that DB Delete access is turned off so you can't accidentally delete them. To delete the DBs, simply tap on 'Properties', the DB, Security Settings, then change 'Delete Database' to Full Access.
Comments:
You only ever need to open the Recipes database directly; the others are accessed via the Recipes DB.
To enter a new recipe, first create a new record in the Recipes DB. In the "Serves" field, enter how many people the recipe normally serves. For now, put the same number in the "# to serve" field. Next, tap the "Ingredients" field and enter a new record there for each ingredient in the recipe. The "Std Amount" field is how much of the ingredient is used when preparing the recipe for the number of people in the Recipe DB "Serves" field; it only needs to be entered once. The "Amount" field will be calculated for you. You'll also note that the "Ingredient" field will automatically take you over to the Shopping List DB and let you pick an item from there. When you're done adding Ingredients, tap "Done" which will take you back to the Recipe record. Now tap "Preparation" to add preparation steps for the recipe. Once that's done, you're all set to use the recipe!
To prepare a recipe, open its record in the Recipes DB and change "# to serve" to how many people you're cooking for this time. Then tap on "Ingredients" to open the ingredients DB. Tap on the first record to open it, then press and hold the "+" in the upper right-hand corner to move through each of the other ingredients so that HanDBase will recalculate the Amounts for you. Now when you press Done, the list of ingredients will be showing the new amounts for each ingredient.

Shopping list is a program to assist food shoppers. Upon opening the program the screen displays a list of item. This list can be changed to suit your needs. The screen also contains two check boxes. One is for weekly purchases that are recurring. The other check box is for items that wouldn't normally appear on the weekly list. There are four views which can be activated by tapping on the view commmand in the upper right hand corner. If you check the buy item box you can view these items by selecting the buy list. The weekly list is also available for viewing. In addition, a weekly and buy list view will give you a complete shopping list. By tapping on the buy item checkbox the item is removed from that list. You probably don't want to tap the weekly check box because you would have to redo your weekly list. Enjoy and Email me if you have any questions. Thanks

This applet allows you to track your weekly weight loss and set a target weight as well as other goals. Before getting started you should weigh yourself and measure your waist and hips (see comments for instructions).
Initially your BMR and BMI will be calculated after you input your data and activity level. You can even choose between two BMR formulas. Then you choose your target weight and your goal for waist size as well writing down other goals. You choose how much weight you want to lose per week and your total energy expenditure will be calculated. Your energy expenditure can even be calculated based on extra activities.
Finally you can write a weekly journal about your progress as well as other thoughts.
This applet is comprised of three databases and one form. It is made to work with forms so it can be difficult to use without them. I included a PDF file to clarify some things on how to use the forms.
The main database is Wt loss calories and the forms file.

This is a suite of 3 databases to assist you on your Weight Watchers program.
- WW Food Calculator: This is the WW calculator to get the points out of entering calories, fat and fiber values. It is pretty accurate since I derived the formula through calculus
- WW Xrcs Calculator: This is the WW calculator to get the exercise points out of entering body weight, and impact minutes values. It is pretty accurate since I also derived the formula through calculus :-)
- WW Food Companion (Michele/akasha): I took the liberty of bundling this db which I did not write or modify. All recognition should be given to Michele/akasha for this contribution. I just thought it would be nice to have everything in one place.
The databases are on v3.0x format, which I think is the latest.
