Description:Bare bones entry screens let you maintain an "interesting case log" from which cases can be pulled for lectures, conferences, submission for papers or texts or the like. You enter the name, and punch in the id# on the screen/keypad, most of the rest of the info comes from selecting popups, or is cross referenced in FINDINGSDB, which you must also download from this site for this puppy to work. If the findings aren't already in there, then you enter them,,BUT ONLY ONCE..instead of writing them over and over in a spiral notebook, only to loose (how many??) spiral notebooks over the years. With this program, you can filter by date, area, exam, modality, or whatever for types of cases you would like to present. You may then read the list to your fileroom or jet off a copy of the filtered database through an IR adapter to a laserprinter. Your cases get pulled and you're off. I have nearly 1200 cases on mine and it takes up a pitiful 209Kbytes. We're not talkin' about entering images here--but the ability not to loose your valuable cases, and wear 2000cases on your belt???priceless.
Has Data:No
Has Forms:No
Filters:youbetcha. Filter on Area:Knee for a general knee lecture, or Modality:MRI for an MR lecture(my favorite!!)
Sorting:sky's the limit. When your entry screen takes you to the findingsdb-- the thing runs from abdomen to wrist.. If you scribe grafitti for the first leter of the area you need, you pretty much go there...very sweet.
Reports:You bump into the Infectious disease guy in the hall and he asks, "do you have any good cases of TB? You get your palm out of it's holster so fast he thinks you're drawing down on him(this is Fort Worth). You then search for TB and within 4 minutes you say, will that be Chest, Base of the brain, Cord, or perhaps intra-abdominal TB??.
Comments:lots of flexiblity--easy to build on. We're not PACS here(I wish) but even if we were, this would be useful. Please note that you need to download FINDINGSDB from this site, as that database is linked to the Teaching File Entry. Findingsdb has over 500 findings on which you can build, or if you'd rather, start over. Teaching File Entry is just the carcass, but there are plenty of pop-ups for your perusal.
