Answer:
HanDBase for Palm OS, HanDBase for Windows Mobile Classic/Professional(Pocket PC), and HanDBase Desktop for Windows all include the "Set value to..." function.
This function allows you to change the value in multiple records, all at once. One common use of this function is to change a Checkbox field to checked or unchecked for all records in a database.
To use this function, open the database to the list of records (list view). On a Palm OS or Pocket PC device, tap on the name of the field that you want to
change the values for. In HanDBase Desktop for Windows, click the name of the
field at the top of the column, don't Right Click.
When you tap or click the name of a field in list view, you will see a menu with items such as Sort Forward, Sort Reverse, Field Properties, and "Set value
to…"
Select "Set value to…" The next screen will allow you to set a value. Date
and Time fields let you select a particular date or time. A Checkbox field lets
you select checked or unchecked. A Popup field lets you select an item from the
popup list for that field. Text, Note, DB Popup, Float and Integer fields let
you enter the value manually.
You can also specify whether you change the value in all records in the
database, or just those records in the filter range. That last part means that
if you have a filter active, then you can change the value for that field in
just the records that are shown through the filter.
Then, tap or click OK. This will change the value in that field in all
records (or just those records that match your filter, if you choose the option
to
change the records in the filter range) to the value that you specified. |
