You are using Sync Exchange and are syncing your database files to a folder other than the standard sync folder.
In these scenarios the main reason for having a Custom User is so that every time you make changes you are not prompted to install the files to a device. In these situations it's either not necessary or not wanted. To avoid that you would set up a Custom User in the HanDBase Desktop. This would first allow you easy access to those files, through the DB Browser or by going to the File menu and choosing Open. Second, when you make changes and save the database you aren't prompted every time to install the files.
Follow these steps to set up a Custom User in the HanDBase Desktop.
1. Open the HanDBase Desktop.
2. From the Configure Menu select Other/Custom Users.
3. Click the Create New User button
4. Change CustomUser# to a Descriptive User Name.
5. Click the Browse button to navigate to the folder where your database files are stored. If these files are on a Network drive make sure you have mapped this location as a local drive on your computer first.
6. Select the folder with your database files and click OK.
7. Select the User Type. If the first scenario above applies select Symbian Series 60. For any other scenario select Desktop Only.
8. Click OK to Save the changes.
You will now see this new user listed in the DB Browser as well as when you go to the File Menu and choose Open. When you open databases from under this new user when you save the changes or close the database you won't be prompted to install to a device.
