HanDBase for Palm OS certified to run under Classic third party application now available for Palm Pre

Wellington, FL USA June 8, 2009- DDH Software today announced a compatibility option for running their popular HanDBase program on the newly released Palm Pre smartphone. While the Palm Pre runs an all new Web OS operating system which is inherently not compatible with previous Palm OS applications, MotionApps, a development company, is selling a program for the Palm Pre called Classic which enables running of Palm OS applications on the new Palm Pre.

HanDBase has gone through the testing and certifications required to be named Classic Certified by MotionApps, and both HanDBase and the separately available HanDBase Forms designer application have been given the seal of approval to run on the new Pre smartphone when running under the add-on application Classic.

While the core application is functional under the Classic application, there are several items of note. First, the Classic application does not offer a Hotsync capability. This means that the add-on Conduits, such as those included with HanDBase Plus, Professional, or Enterprise packages for Palm OS will not function with the Pre at this point. Depending on consumer demand, this can be remedied in the future, as MotionApps can add Hotsync support, and/or a new conduit could be created by DDH Software, Inc. for the Pre specifically. In the meantime, files can be transferred to and from the desktop via the side-loading mechanism, and can be merged via the HanDBase Desktop program's capabilities.

HanDBase for Palm OS is available in the DDH Software Store in several packages starting at US $29.99. Packages are available with a custom Forms Designer starting at US $39.99.
Registered users of HanDBase 4.x for Palm OS are permitted to install their Palm OS license to their new Palm Pre if they are abandoning their old device, otherwise, can purchase a new license at a discount from the registered users' section of DDH Software's web site.

Classic is available through the MotionApps Website for $29.99 US. Instructions for installing applications and data files are also available there in their FAQ section.
