HanDBase for Mac v4.29a Known Bugs

Postby dhaupert » Fri Mar 26, 2010 4:40 pm

Hi,

The following bugs have been confirmed in the development version of HanDBase for Mac v4.29a:

Bug: Editing an empty popup list causes crash
Symptoms: If you select the Edit Popup list option in any popup list and the list is currently without any popup items, the program will crash.
Workaround: Use a handheld client to create at least a single popup in a list before editing on the Mac.
Status: Fixed for next version.

Bug: Changes to popup list were not accepted if you didn't hit enter during edit.
Symptoms: If you were editing a popup entry and did not hit enter, pressing the New, Done, Sort, Delete, <-, or -> buttons would ignore the previous change made.
Workaround: Hit enter when finished editing a popup list
Status: Fixed for next version

Bug: "Random" crash when editing popups.
Symptoms: While working in the Edit Popup screen the program would crash on rare and random seeming occasions
Status: Fixed for next version.

Bug: Program not running on 10.4 OS
Symptoms: Trying to launch the program on Mac OSX Tiger (10.4) would crash immediately.
Status: Working on fix for next version

If you see any bugs not listed here, please respond to this thread and we'll try to track them down. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Opening records in a database that includes checkboxes changes the checkbox to unchecked even if previously checked causing confusion.

While on the screen for an open record, pressing the right arrow to view the next one will transfer some data to the next record (eg dates).

Thanks for your posting. Can you clarify the above? Does this happen on every database for you?

There is'nt any other way to count specific groups of records other than count ones with a check mark that I know of so I hope this gets fixed.

That is a mandatory function for me unless there is another way to count groups.

Are you wanting to apply a filter and then show a total number of records matching the filter's criteria?

I think that might work. Now I have a check box for present. Then I run a report on how many are present.

I didn't think I could find the number on a filtered item. I can run the filter on a word, but then how do I determine how many agree with the filter? I can't run a report on a filter or a view unless it is a number or a check I believe.
