What's the status of the next release? It sure would be nice to sync with Vista.

Hi there,

Great question. I wish I had a definitive answer. We were working on the Pocket PC version getting done first, and then the Windows Mobile Standard (ie Smartphone) version next. I ran into a device issue with the Pocket PC last week and while I wait for a hardware replacement I am now moved over to this version (that you're asking about). So depending on how far I get, this one may beat the Windows Mobile Professional/Classic one to release. I'll let you know when it's close, but there are still a number of issues being worked on.

Hi,

Thanks for checking in- actually just last week we released the Windows Mobile Classic/Professional update as a development version. So the plan is this week to work on finishing up the Windows Mobile Standard installers. That said, there seems to be a few issues with version we posted, so I have to attend to that, and then I'll get started on the Windows Mobile Standard files. Hopefully by the end of this week or early next week we'll be in a position to have a development version available for WMS!

We are, if you saw in the newsletter, we had some Vista issues with our Development versions on the Windows Mobile Classic/Pro builds. We released an update to that just last week and we're waiting to get it right there before we replicate on this platform!

I am thinking that I am going to change platforms. There seems to be more promise in the iPod line than the windows line. However, I would like to know if you guys are continuing to support the windows platform in the future. It looks like this thread is a bit outdated.

Hi Marty,

Thanks for writing. I would say that the platform has been phased out by Microsoft. They have their new Windows Phone 7 platform and have really abandoned this quickly as did most customers. Unfortunately for Microsoft they don't seem to be moving to the Windows Phone 7 devices, but to other brands entirely like iPhones/iPod touch/Android/etc.

At present we continue to offer support for these platforms, but active development has definitely winded down substantially. I think a move to a different platform would be a smart one in the long run based on the above!
