Corrupted forms data fields on device - WinMO 6.0 Standard

My problem is as follows,

The data fields in the forms on the device contain symbols.

The system is configured as follows
Handbase Desktop v 4.1.0
Handbase Forms Desktop v 4.1.1
Desktop computer Windows Vista Ultimate SP2
Device Motorola Q9c Windows Mobile 6.0 Std.

The data fields are fine on the desktop database table and the Handbase forms Desktop.
The the data also appears fine on the device in the table (both headings and cells).
It's when the form is called up that the fields display symbols, though the labels on the forms are displayed correctly.

When I attempt to edit the field on the device it inputs as symbols. Also, there are these symbols displayed above the table before the form is loaded.

This is a copy of the synch log.

Thank you for reading this, I hope you have an answer. I'm on a project to convert our Palm PDA's to Windows Mobile. Previously the databases were developed with ThinkDB/Smartlist.

Hi there,

Thanks for your posting. I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you're having- it's a completely new problem for us, as I don't believe of ever hearing of this sort of thing happening before. Question- would you be able to email me with the databases and forms so I can try on a WM standard device here at the office? If so, you can see my email in the signature below.

Barring that, perhaps taking a screenshot (with a digital camera or other phone is fine) may provide me a few clues as well.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I've been away from my office and only now
able to reply.

The corrupted(symbols) in the data fields issue has been solved by doing a
complete device power down and startup. In the past I'd noticed the same
symbols on the screen when I used "Google Maps" at my device and the power
down thing would correct it. So now the forms presentation of the data
fields contain readable information.

The next question has to do with the Desktop Application and the Device
presentation.

The Desktop application seems to have a very difficult Forms Developer(very
delicate field placement) to work with and the result on the device is not
what was described at the desktop developer, especially font size.

The tables seem to select a column heading font that truncates many headings
down to one character with trailing periods. This makes the table very hard
to work with(read) on the device. Also during development many of the forms
settings always have to be reset eg. Platform Preview always defaults to
Windows Desktop when you enter for an editing session or change forms in an
editing session. The lack of any multi-field alignment tools also make the
project very tedious.

I've attempted to use >Configure >Preferences >SelectFont, this doesn't seem
to make any diffence on either the device or Desktop.

I could go on but I will just ask the question. Is there an updated Desktop
application in the works, or is my experience unique?
