Pasting text from web page - ′

Postby glenwf » Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:39 pm

Problem with pasting from web page.

The below line was copied from a web page:
Elevation: 6,486′,
and pasted into a Note field and it displays as:
Elevation: 6,486′,
When this is exported to Tab delimited file it shows as:
Elevation: 6,486′,

I assume this is one of those Unicode problems.

I can export and fix all above errors in the file with a text editor and then import again to solve the existing problems.

But, going forward, when I copy from a web page is there anything I can do to prevent this “′” from happening?

I did some quick testing, and the only answer I can come up with is after pasting the value, press the backspace button once (deleting the ' character) and then type it on your keyboard.

Then it saves correctly
Have a good day

I am not a DDHSoftware employee, just a long time HanDBase user.... from Palm to Windows Mobile to Android, to iOS. Thanks to DDH, the database files transferred to each platform without a problem.
