HanDBase as community driven software

For quite some time Dave is struggling to keep HanDBase up to date.
How much I regret to say, I don't think anything will change I a short time.
Since a commercial business model seems hard to achieve perhaps a community driven model is a way to save HanDBase.
Sorry to say I don't have the skills to pull this but it's just a thought.
I have seen the same happening with Squeezebox eco system. Despite the fact that Logitech stopt producing the hardware components the community took over and even came up with hardware solutions to keep things going.

Really hate to see HanDBase dying like Palm.
